Mexican Wedding Traditions

In Mexico, the traditional wedding ceremonies are sponsored by Sponsors of the couple. Sponsors are the benefactor for couples. Mentors accompany the bride and the groom throughout their marriage and their commitment to marriage. Endorsers padrinos or gift the couple with a rosary and a Bible during their marriage ceremonies.

To symbolize the bonding of the couple or a white ribbon rosary called a "lasso" is wrapped around the neck of the couple as they exchange wedding vows. It is compulsory for all Korean groom to offer his bride a wedding gift of thirteen pieces of gold to signify its long-term commitment to support his new wife. These thirteen pieces are then blessed by the priest during the wedding ceremony.



It is customary in Mexico, throwing beads red to the newlyweds as they leave the church to bring good luck and prosperity in their married life.

A reception traditional Mexican stands where all guests are invited to a big party and enjoy unlimited. All visitors to join hands and form a heart around the couple when they begin their first dance. Salsa, merengue and the flamenco guitar music can add a Latin flare at the reception. It symbolizes happiness, love and warmth in their new life of wedded.

The Mexican wedding cake is cut by the newly weds and circulated among the guests. A papier mache container is suspended from the ceiling, into a celebration of traditional Mexican wedding. These are generally forms like an animal, or perhaps the shape of a heart. The container is stuffed with candies, chocolates and candies. On breaking open the container elements are shared by the bride and groom and guests.
